Day 3

Boat ride to a volcano and red spring waters

The boat ride to the volcano in Santorini offers great views of the island's dramatic cliffs and azure waters. The departure was from Fira, an old port in Santorini, which can be reached either by cable car or stairs. The boat, carrying around 25 passengers, had a design that resembled a medieval pirate ship, with its wooden decks, tall masts, and rustic aura . There was an air of excitement as we approached Nea Kameni, the volcanic island at the heart of the caldera.

Once ashore, we hiked up the rugged paths to the crater, feeling the heat emanating from the earth beneath our feet. Although the volcano was not currently active, there were certain spots where wisps of smoke rose from the ground, a reminder of the geological forces that shaped this island.

The landscape was simply breathtaking to put it in simple words.

Day 4

The “Rabbit hole” cave – a less explored beauty

"The Rabbit Hole" cave is a hidden spot in Santorini that overlooks the ocean. It’s not an official landmark but rather a natural or lesser-known viewpoint, possibly a small cave or hollow, offering stunning panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. These kinds of secluded spots are scattered around the island, often discovered during hikes or by locals, providing a tranquil escape.
